dieffenbachia 3 Posted by Picasa

  • Your pictures are beautiful. Our lord sure made some pretty plants.
I wanted to let you know incase you already don't that this plant can be dangerous.
The sap of the Dieffenbachia is extremely poisonous. Even a small amount in the mouth can cause the tongue to swell to the point that it will close your throat and cause suffocation. Wash your hands thoroughly after you have in contact with the sap, and I would not have it around small children or pets.
I may sound paranoid about this, but back in the 60s three of my children were hospitalized from eating poison berries. The youngest nearly died from it so I try to warn people.
Father says he gave us the 'leaves of the trees and the herbs of the fields for our healing' but some of them can be dangerous.
